Access Points provide a clear, accessible pathway for students in need of extra support to engage meaningfully with State Standards. Unlike traditional programs that simply modify the general curriculum, Access Points are designed as an alternate set of academic standards directly aligned to each state’s standards and alternate assessment. This ensures that all students have equitable access to, standards-based instruction.
​A key feature of our materials is a scaffolded reading progression with built-in progress monitoring designed to gradually build comprehension skills. Each sequence begins with a one-sentence story, progresses to a two-sentence story, and continues to increase in complexity through multi-sentence passages, eventually reaching fully developed stories of up to five paragraphs. At each stage, progress monitoring questions and checkpoints allow teachers to assess student understanding, track growth over time, and identify when students are ready to move to more complex passages. This step-by-step structure helps students build confidence while developing the ability to understand increasingly complex texts.
